Nepali Pahichan Class 12 Summary

Nepal's diversity, in language, religion, and culture, is also one of its great strengths and greatest challenges. According to Ghanshyam, this diversity sometimes becomes a hindrance in the way of social progress. But for Bekhman, diversity is the defining essence and the potent heritage of Nepali society—what differentiates and what renders Nepal unique.

Ethnic, cultural, language and traditional diversity is also diversity. In some communities in Nepal there are very interesting local traditions and stories. This mixed-ethnic bilingualism is an advantage that is representative of the nation’s diverse historical heritage.

Adding, "Despite all these differences, Nepal made by us and handed over to you has kept a sense of unity, peace, and tolerance." As much as the world has been torn apart by race, religion, or language wars, Nepal has been able to raise tolerance among the different group which is also one of the most fascinating thing about society “which is also one of the beautiful one.”

Culture is another big opportunity for tourism in Nepal. In a country that can be crossed in a few travel hours of driving, we experience diverse traditions and celebrate numerous festivals and languages, a perfect ground for cultural tourism.

But there are down side of Nepali culture too. So there are many of the ills and the distortions which remain. Superstitions persist, and caste, gender, and class discrimination still haunt the society. The practice of dowry, tilak and superstitions of ghosts/witches has not faded away and are obstructing the social growth to the society.

Key Points:

  • Nepal, however, has diverse blessings and challenges.
  • Co-existence of different is always good.
  • Nepal is extremely rich in cultural tourism.
  • The social evils like superstition, caste discrimination, and dowry are still there.
  • For there to be any chance of success, we must protect diversity while opposing harmful practices.
