Tyo feri Farkala Class 11 Summary, Story by Bhawani Bhikshu

Tyo Feri Farkala is a psychological story based on Nepali writing by Bhawani Bhikshu, part of the Nepali course of grade 11. It delves into the life and repressed desires of a woman called Sani, who is consumed by unrequited love for a stranger, and whose unfulfilled desire haunts her until the day she dies.

It opens with a traveller coming to Sani's house, so with Sani being in a place which is a hilly area away from civilization. He requests a sleeping place, and her mother consents. Even Sani, uncommunicative as he is, feels strongly drawn to the stranger. That night, she goes to where the man sleeps and stands at the foot of the bed in silence and is filled with emotions. The next day, by the which time he has left, Sani dreams of him and makes secret plans in her heart for his return.

Over the years, Sani matures, is married and runs her household. But in her heart, she keeps waiting for the traveler who never knew how much she loved him. Even in the absence of her mother, she goes back to her mother's former house and assumes her role... and never to stop waiting ever so silently. Her hope — “Tyo feri farkala? — becomes her life’s core.

A few years later, the traveler suddenly returns and again requests to stay. When they meet and chat, he casually observes that Sani is now aged. That comment crushes her emotionally. The hope she has clung to for her entire life vanishes. The traveler departs once more, and this time Sani finally understands that the time she spent waiting is time that she had to give — not his. He felt nothing at all for her.

This story gives us a wonderfully beautiful image of how fragile the human heart is; of how unrequited love, those things we feel without speaking them, actually influence our lives. Bhawani Bhikshu who practiced Freudian psychology in his writings uses this story to describe the unvoiced desires and suppressed psychosexual conflicts among his characters. Sani’s inner conflict — between society’s expectations, emotional repression and the loneliness of loving someone who doesn’t love you back — is subtly realized.

The mood and style of the story is the dark sides of life: the sadness, emotional loneliness, and the intricacies of the female psyche. He was such a transient figure, but Sani’s emotional life had been orbiting around him. Her love was based on a moment but had lifelong effects.

In short, this song is all about tragic sense of mental pain associated with one sided love, repression due to society and emotional illusion you have. It shows how personal sorrow often results from silent yearning, and how some people wait forever for something that never comes back.
