Yogmaya Neupane was born in Bhojpur in the year 1824 of B.S. Shemarriedat7, and was a widow when she was 9. Following the abuse she suffered in both family and society, she started her spiritual and intellectual journey.
Spiritual Awakening
She migrated to Assam, was remarried, lost loved ones repeatedly, but she took all experiences as her prospects of inner-evolution. In her interaction with saints and Arya Samaj movements, she developed an idea of reformed society.
Return to Nepal
In Nepal, she had started speaking publicly, studying scriptures and questioning orthodox practices. But as she gained influence, she created an all-women movement opposing:
